Yellow Cabs

What initially was the result of an improvised scouting of Lower Manhattan, and a Nikon F3 loaded with a roll of Kodak Ektachrome film, years later revealed it’s true narrative.
The omnipresent Yellow Cabs as the main subjects, and a stark “film noir” look makes each image stand out like screen shots from a dystopian movie. Knowing now what mayhem the future would bring, the vertical images from the financial district and the Moondance Diner, only adds to the ominous feeling.
All images were shot and developed in the mid ‘90s, and then digitally post processed in 2002.
